The Rotary Huron Shore Run organizing committee has decided there is no way to safely run the run in 2020. "We are living through a very difficult time," read an April 4 media release. "The health and safety of our participants and volunteers is paramount."

Individuals who have signed up and donated to the event online have been given several options including a refund minus the administration fee, donation of their fee to our causes and free entrance next year. "Our website will be open to accept donations until the end of June," read the release. "We encourage everyone in our community to continue to walk and run while maintaining a safe social distance. We are passionate about supporting our charities that provide vital community services. All donations will be directed to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, local Rotary Covid 19 projects and the Saugeen Track and Field Club."

Donations can be made at rotaryrun.net.

Organizers extended a thanks to participants and sponsors as well as committee members and volunteers.

"Thank you to all for your support. Stay healthy and safe. We hope to see you again on June 5th, 2021."
