Bruce County Paramedics were stationed outside of Rowland's Independent Grocer December 23 collecting food, cash and household donations.

Bruce County Paramedics “stuffed” an ambulance at Rowland’s Independent Grocer December 23 with food donations for the Salvation Army Food Bank.

In total $1,800 in funds were raised and approximately 2,500 lbs of food and household products helped to fill the ambulance stationed outside of the Port Elgin grocery store.

Local paramedics Brittney Kealey, Ben Rees, Colleen Craig, Emily Higenell, Ken Johnstone, Bobby Joe Barth, Tianna Grant, Katie Gibbons, Matt Kwok, Jeff Aiken and Myra Shular braved the cold weather and greeted last minute shoppers to do their part this holiday season. Members of the community also donated eight children's snowsuits which will be given to those in need.

In total 2,500 lbs of food and $1,800 in cash was collected.
