Saugeen Fire and Emergency Services (SFES) reported a wildfire at 8:40pm on April 22, 2025.
The fire was approximately 200 metres in length near the Saugeen River at Saugeen First Nation.
In a post shared to social media, firefighters got the fire under control then proceeded with a controlled burn to a portion of the area. No injuries or damages were reported.
SFES are reminding residents that as the weather warms and the seasons change, be fire smart and avoid careless disposal of items such as cigarettes in seasonally dry areas.
